The Devil is a terrible copycat.  Mind you, that doesn’t stop him from trying at every turn to ape God.  His greatest impersonation to do before his final curtain call, as the anti-Christ, is still in the future but he hardly ceases to have dress rehearsals.  Although it may not be immediately obvious, we are witnessing one such dry run in the celebration of Pride Month.  It is no mere coincidence that the principalities and powers of darkness have chosen June for their diabolical saturnalia.

The more traditionally minded Catholics will recognize that June is the month dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  It is marked by two great liturgical feasts: the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost and Corpus Christi.  The latter celebrates the great gift of the Eucharist and includes a parade in which the Blessed Sacrament is carried through the streets.  All who are present make acts of adoration and “sing joyful songs to the Lord.”  The Eucharistic flesh of Our Lord is on display, dressed in the gold of the monstrance for all the world to see.  “This is My Body given up for you.”

Contrast this with scenes from the various Pride parades and the parallels come into relief.  Obscenely decorated men and women, and even sometimes seven-year boys in women’s clothing, parade their flesh around.  The marchers are stirred up in bacchanaliac frenzy, imitating sex acts.  Most of those in attendance are there not to participate but to give their pinch of incense in adoration to the gods of political correctness.

The parallels enable us to overcome the accusation of over-spiritualizing and help illuminate what we are up against.  Christians have been caught flatfooted in the fight against the LGBT agenda.  And that is because they have misidentified the enemy.  Ten years ago, none of this could have been predicted, twenty years ago it was completely unfathomable.  That is because the devil and his minions had set in motion a coordinated effort to overthrow the Christian order.  Through his tried and true method of inciting lust, he provoked the Sexual Revolution.  The Sexual Revolution was not the end but the means by which he would destroy the family and topple the moral order.  Once those two things happen, chaos will follow.  This spirit of the anti-Christ brings “tolerance” rather than peace, “equality” rather than justice, and “love” rather than agape.

If it is true that we “wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this world” (Eph 6:12-13), then our weapon is not only legislation but Christ.  St. Paul repeats what Israel already knew, and that is why they would always spiritually prepare for a physical battle and carry the Ark of the Covenant with them into battle.  As the New Israel, the Church has Christ in the Eucharist.  The Pride parades of June and their open mockery of the Corpus Christi procession are goading us into this response.  Everywhere there is a Pride parade, the Church should be parading the Eucharist around at the same time.  Christ left us this weapon and we should use it.  The devils will flee and the people will go free.  Only then, when Christ is acknowledged as the rightful King, will order follow.
